# What is an idempotency key?

A key of 8–200 characters sent with every execute call, one per intent and reused on every retry of that intent.

Agent actions

## Idempotency key

A key of 8–200 characters sent with every execute call, one per intent and reused on every retry of that intent. The same key returns the original action’s current state and never executes again; the same key with a different body is an `idempotency_conflict`.
